Our Story

Why we built Klavelio

Financial education should not be a privilege. We created Klavelio to make structured, practical money management learning accessible to every adult in the UK.

A gap that needed filling

The UK has no shortage of financial content. Articles, podcasts, and social media posts about money are everywhere. What is far rarer is structured, sequential learning that takes an adult from a vague sense of financial unease to a clear, confident understanding of their own household finances.

Klavelio was founded in Sheffield to address precisely that gap. The city, like many across the UK, is home to thousands of adults who are managing their money as best they can without ever having been taught the fundamentals. The knowledge exists. The access does not.

Our founders came from backgrounds in adult education and personal finance coaching, not from investment banking or wealth management. That distinction matters. Klavelio was built from the perspective of the learner, not the financial industry.

The principles behind every course we build

01

Clarity over complexity

Financial concepts are not inherently complicated. They become complicated when explained badly. Every Klavelio course is written to maximise clarity, using plain language and concrete examples from British everyday life.

02

Practical before theoretical

Understanding a concept is only useful if you can apply it. Our courses are built around practical exercises and real-world scenarios. Theory is introduced only in the service of practice.

03

Honest about limitations

Klavelio is an educational platform, not a financial advisory service. We are transparent about what our courses can and cannot do. We teach general principles, not personal recommendations.

04

Respect for the learner

Adults who seek financial education deserve to be treated as capable, intelligent people who happen not to have been taught these things before. We never condescend, and we never oversimplify to the point of being unhelpful.

Financial literacy is not about becoming wealthy. It is about having enough understanding of your own money to make decisions with confidence rather than anxiety.
Klavelio Education Team

Our educational scope

Klavelio courses cover personal finance fundamentals and household budgeting. This includes expense tracking, savings planning, understanding financial terminology, and constructing household budgets. We do not cover investment strategies, tax planning, or regulated financial products.

All content is designed to be applicable to the general adult population in the UK. We do not tailor advice to individual circumstances, and nothing on our platform should be read as a recommendation to take or avoid any particular financial action.

Based in Sheffield, serving the UK

Our team is based in Sheffield, and that local grounding shapes how we think about financial education. We understand the cost-of-living pressures, housing market realities, and economic patterns that affect people across the UK, not just in London and the South East.

Our courses are delivered entirely online, which means they are accessible to anyone in the UK regardless of location. The content is relevant wherever you live, because it is built around the universal fundamentals of British household finance.
